National gambling regulator Coljuegos has introduced a new resolution aimed at reducing harmful gambling. Resolution 22654 will require operators to increase player monitoring to better detect compulsive gambling.
The resolution also aims to ensure players have access to tools to help them identify risky behaviour and advice on how to maintain control while gambling. Operators will be asked to run awareness campaigns and make self-exclusion available.
Operators will be required to submit action plans to Coljuegos, which will be reviewed by the regulator. The regulator will also audit compliance and performance indicators.
Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapie said:
Coljuegos is still seeking to regulate keno in the country. In June, Hincapie said Coljuegos was in the process of preparing pre-contractual documents ahead of a public tender. Last month, Coljuegos awarded an online gambling license to Kaizen Gaming’s Betano, which became the 17th licensed online gambling operator in the country.

We are asking operators to run campaigns to inform players about the risks associated with compulsive gambling. In the case of innovative games offered online, including Baloto, SuperAstro, we ask operators to make self-exclusion available so that users can voluntarily block themselves when they engage in risky behavior.
